Watagan Rangers Bring Community Sport to Watagan Park Central

Watagan Park Central was filled with energy and excitement as local families came together for the Watagan Rangers community event, held as part of the Cricket NSW Country Blitz.

Guests had the special opportunity to meet Sydney Sixer player, Erin Burns and Cricket NSW player, Liam Hatcher and take part in cricket and AFL activities, collect stamps in their Country Blitz Passports and enjoy giveaways throughout the afternoon.

The event also introduced the community to the Watagan Rangers, a new local sporting club bringing cricket and AFL together under one set of colours. With preparations underway for the club’s first season in 2027, the afternoon offered an exciting glimpse into the opportunities ahead for local players, families and volunteers.

A special thank you to the Sydney Sixers, Cricket NSW and Hunter Coast AFL for joining us and helping create such a memorable experience for our community.
